Last week was a good one for the Leipsic school system. Not only did the boys basketball team punch a ticket to the state tournament, but the school recieved a $5,000 donation from a resident in the district. The Putnam County Sentinel reports Lisa Kohls gave $2,500 to the FFA and $2,500 to the music program. Kohls was chosen as the winner of the America's Farmers Grow Communities program, which is sponsored by the Monsanto fund. Winners are given $2,500 to donate to nonprofits in their communities. Kohls' prize was doubled because of last year's drought.
