Man Charged With Drug Crimes Will Represent Himself

Friday, March 15, 2013 - 5:21 AM

A Cincinnati man who was pulled over on I-75 in Hancock County and found to have drugs in his car last October will represent himself in court. The Courier reports 39-year-old Marcus Coleman has submitted numerous court filings from jail since his arrest. Judge Joseph Niemeyer has urged Coleman to reconsider, and has appointed attorney John McMahon as stand-by counsel in the case.

Coleman has already sued the county jail for "mental anguish" from poor food and also for a lack of adequate legal text books. He claims he was pulled over because of "racist, deceptive enforcement techniques." A jury trial is scheduled for May 20.
