Rumors swirling in McComb that a boy pointed a rifle at a bus driver are untrue. That's according to McComb Schools Superintendent Michael Lamb. He tells the Courier there was an incident on March 5 where a bus driver thought a boy who was shooting at sparrows with a BB gun had pointed the gun at her. Lamb says he spoke with the boy, his parents, and the bus driver the next day and everything seemed to point to a misunderstanding.
Some parents remain unconvinced, telling the newspaper they feel the incident was not being taken seriously and was swept under the rug. The school's resource officer has sent the matter to the prosecutor to see if there is enough evidence for any charges to be filed.
