School Will Release Central To Group For New Performing Arts Center

Members of the newly formed Hancock County Performing Arts Center Board were present at the Findlay Board of Education meeting to formally announce their intent to take over Central Middle School and renovate the auditorium..

Katherine Kruechauf, President of the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation, in her address to the board, said that results of their silent fund raising campaign proved to be enough to move ahead with the takeover of the property. The school district will take care of the asbestos abatement issue and demolition of the academic wing before turning over the deed to the Blanchard Valley Port Authority..

The deed and agreements will be executed between Findlay City Schools, the Blanchard Valley Port Authority and the Hancock County Performing Arts Center Board. The Port Authority will officially take over the property in mid October of 2013. Kruechauf said they hope to have the new performing arts center opened in early 2015.
