The University of Findlay Chapter of Stride or Students Teaching Respect for Individuals with Disabilities Everyday, will host an all-day event on campus this Wednesday. Maggie Brown, student and secretary for the organization says the goal is to stop spread of the "R" word..

Participants in the event will be asked to sign a banner to pledge to stop using the "R" word. Members of Special Kids Therapy, Special Olympics and the Allen County Downs Syndrome Association will visit throughout the day. Brown said individuals with disabilities can also be contributing members of society in different ways..\

The event will be held in the Alumni Memorial Union at the fireside lounge from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 27. Maggie Brown will be a guest on Tuesday's edition of WFIN @ 10.
