Commissioner Robertson Talks About County Garage, Landfill

The lines of communication between the Hancock County Commissioners and County Engineer Chris Long remain open despite a disagreement over the cost of a new county garage. Commissioner Brian Robertson appeared on WFINat10 today and said the two sides are working on a solution to get a new facility built... (Audio Below)
The commissioners rejected bids for a new facility last week because of the $3.9 million price tag. Robertson says alternative plans are being reviewed for cost effectiveness
Robertson also talked about issues at the Hancock County Landfill with trash haulers not paying their bills. While not a major issue Robertson says some processes need to be streamlined... (Audio Below)
Some of the changes include having credit limits for the 212 haulers that bring trash to the landfill, and making sure the proper info is on file so they can handle haulers who default on their bills.
