Flood control measures will be a big boost to Findlay's economy according to three local leaders. The Courier reports Findlay Mayor Lydia Mihalik, Hancock County Commissioner Phil Riegle, and Findlay-Hancock County Alliance President John Haywood talked about flood mitigation with the Findlay Morning Rotary Wednesday. Riegle told the group when mitigation is complete he can see more businesses confidently moving downtown, while Haywood added he thinks more people will move to the downtown area if they don't have to worry about flooding. Mihalik says when people no longer fear the rain the economy will boom for the entire city, not only downtown.
