Senior Volunteers To Assist In Improving Childhood Literacy

The Ohio Department of Aging launched an initiative to link senior volunteers with a reading mentor program designed to support the Third Grade Reading Guarantee. Department of Aging Director Bonnie Kantor Burman was at Leipsic Elementary School to announce the initiative to link project MORE, which improves reading performance for students with learning disabilities or at risk for reading failure, with volunteers from the Retired Senior Volunteer or RSVP program.
