Hunter Hayes Goes For An 'Encore' Tue, 18 Jun 2013 01:00:00 EST
Hunter Hayes' new release, called Encore, is in stores today (Tuesday, June 18th). It's a deluxe edition of Hunter's self-titled debut album, and features a handful of new songs, including his latest hit, "I Want Crazy." Hunter tells us he struggled with the decision to release a re-worked album. "Well, Encore was a tough decision for me cause it's a very weird concept to go back and remake parts of a record, but I realized how healthy it was and how good it was to get in the studio and not have a sort of plan for a record, like to go in and say, 'What if I could do this over again?' Okay, well we can, and we did. It's an updated version. It's the most up-to-date version of sort of where I'm at writing-wise, where I'm at musically, but, in general, just where the music is, you know, and there's five brand new songs on it and there is three re-records, including a duet with Miss Ashley (Monroe), which I'm really excited about, but, yeah, just an updated version. There's a lot more energy, I think, in the new music, which I think the original record benefitted from that. Like all together it finally feels like a chapter." Hunter also teams up with pop singer Jason Mraz on the record. He kicks off his first headlining tour, called CMT on Tour: Hunter Hayes' Let's Be Crazy tour, on October 10th in Knoxville, Tennessee. | Taylor Swift Talks Rolling Stones, The Twirl Tue, 18 Jun 2013 01:00:00 EST
Taylor Swift was among the lucky country acts who have been invited to join the Rolling Stones on stage during their current 50 & Counting tour. She almost stole the show by twirling with Mick Jagger at the end of their rendition of "As Tears Go By" during the Chicago performance. Taylor tells us the collaboration -- and the twirl -- was a highlight of her career. "The twirl. You know, performing with the Rolling Stones, it just was everything that you would think it would be but better. 'Cause they've been on this huge, heroic pedestal for me for so long, and you walk into a situation like that and you don't know what to expect and having experienced that, they're now at an even higher level of hero status for me. Mostly because of their attitude. Because of their hospitality. Because they hand-write notes, thanking you for being there. Because you get to get pictures with them and hang out with them. I think one of my favorite moments of the whole thing was when the musical director and Mick and I were all rehearsing the song, in a dressing room, with a piano and -- we were just kinda goofing around and we started dancing, like waltz -- like over-exaggerated ballet moves. And then we started twirling around the room. And it was hilarious, because we forgot the words and we just started laughing. We ended up incorporating a twirl into the performance, I think, in homage to the hilarious musical rehearsal that we had that day." Brad Paisley is set to perform with the legendary rock act tonight (Tuesday, June 18th) in Philadelphia. Taylor takes her Red tour to Canada this weekend with a performance in Winnipeg, MB on Saturday (June 22nd). She recently performed with her tourmate, Ed Sheeran, on Britain's Got Talent. They sang "Everything Has Changed." AUDIO: TAYLOR SWIFT ON PERFORMING WITH ROLLING STONES

Despite bad storms in the midwest this weekend, Kenny Chesney went on with the show at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on Saturday (June 15th). Torrential rains forced more than 50,000 fans to wait an extra 30 minutes for the show to safely get underway Kenny said, "Obviously, we never want anyone to be in danger, but we know lots of people plan trips to come together for one of these shows -- and you hate for them to lose their travel, their hotels. And selfishly, the fans at Arrowhead Stadium are some of the loudest we play to every year! So, Kacey (Musgraves) went on thirty minutes late and in the rain, like a real trooper, and we got on with the show." The 2013 No Shoes Nation tour, which has already sold in excess of a million tickets this year, rolls into Pittsburgh's Heinz Field on Saturday (June 22nd). Kenny is climbing the charts with his new single, "When I See This Bar." He's been performing it with Eric Church during the stadium shows. | Bits And Pieces: Keith Urban, Gary Allan & More!
