I'm kind of a sentimental guy. When someone gives me a gift, I keep it. Even well past its useful life. I figure that person put some thought into what they were giving me, so I think it's rude to throw those things away. The downside of this is that I have an awful lot of stuff that I no longer use, and I keep it for no other reason than it was a gift. This holiday season, I've decided that THINGS are no longer the best gifts. Experiences... that's where it's at. While that panini maker my sister got me years ago languishes in the little-used drawer under the oven, I could be reliving my thrilling experience behind the wheel of a race car, or maybe piloting an airplane, or some heavy equipment.
Here are some ideas on great gift experiences to consider giving this year, or maybe add these to your own list! |

Stevens Once that happens, you know there's Halloween then Thanksgiving then cold temperatures and SNOW (which of course means Winter!) This is the time of year I really miss living in Florida. I know. It's not sweltering hot there in the winter...but it is above 40 and most years there's no snow.

Someone randomly asked me recently if I have a secret talent. I said not really at first, but then as I thought about it actually do. (If you want to call it a talent or not). I have good timing when it comes to watching two shows at once on TV. When you watch one show and it goes to
commercials then flip to watch another, I can hop back to the first show as it starts back up. Not missing a thing. I call that pretty talented. What is your secret talent? Can you say the alphabet backwards, sing opera, juggle with your eyes closed. Email me... |

I have always thought of myself as being a go with the flow type of girl. Lately, that has not been the case. I have decided I am not good at last minute change. I don't like things thrown at me at the last minute. I get upset if someone cancels on me when we've had something planned for some time. I am not good with learning new things that I don't understand, I get frustrated. Maybe it's because as I get older, it's harder to understand stuff or I've just never liked change. Who knows!! |
