Boys basketball: O-G runs past Lima Senior in second half
LIMA -- A 36-25 second-half run by Ottawa-Glandorf helped the Titans pull away for a 59-41 victory over Lima Senior on Saturday night in a nonconference boys basketball game.

With a 22-16 halftime lead, the Titans (12-1) powered their way in the second half by outscoring Lima Senior by 11 points.

Michael Rosebrock scored a game-high 18 points for the Titans. Noah Bramlage scored 13 points and T.J. Metzger finished with a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Devon Allen led the Spartans (4-8) with 16 points. Ruben Flowers added seven points.

MOUNT BLANCHARD -- Connor McCreary went off for 29 points as Colonel Crawford defeated Riverdale 65-55 in a North Central Conference Silver Division game Saturday evening.

McCreary was 2 of 4 from inside the arc, 6 of 8 on 3-pointers and made 7 of 8 free throws for the Eagles (12-3, 6-2 NCC).

Clay Jury scored 14 points and had nine rebounds. Austin Adams scored 14 points as well.

Lee Holderman and Jimmy Fox led a balanced Riverdale (3-9, 2-5) scoring effort with 11 points apiece. Adam Fox had 10 points and team highs of seven rebounds and four steals.

FOSTORIA -- Sandusky put up an invulnerable backcourt defense that disrupted Fostoria High School's offensive schemes Saturday night as the Blue Streaks dusted off the Redmen 62-40 in a nonleague encounter.

Sandusky (3-11) jumped to a 20-9 lead after one quarter and led 38-17 at halftime. Dominic Kirkwood added 12 points, and Lucas Will had eight points and four steals.

Adonis Cousin led the Fostoria (2-10) with 13 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Dom Fuller added six points with five rebounds, while Drew Stennett grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds to go with five points.

Nick Schumaker led the Mohawks (6-6) with 16 points and three assists while Donovan Scudder led on the defensive end with four steals. Zach Miller contributed eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Trevor Hester led Monclova Christian with 14 points and 2 assists while Troy Hester had 11 points and four rebounds.

COLUMBUS GROVE -- Columbus Grove surged late in the second half to edge Kalida 39-36 Saturday in boys basketball Putnam County League play.

The Bulldogs (8-4, 3-1 PCL) outscored Kalida 16-9 in the fourth quarter to rally for the victory. Will Vorhees led the Bulldogs with 12 points and grabbed six rebounds. Dakota Vogt had eight points and three assists.

Austin Horstman scored 17 points for the Wildcats (4-8, 2-1 PCL). Cody Mathew had 13 points.



MILLER CITY 51

LIMA TEMPLE CHR. 49

MILLER CITY -- A fourth-quarter rally by Miller City led the Wildcats to a 51-49 win over Lima Temple Christian Saturday night in a nonconference boys basketball game.

Miller City (11-3) trailed by one point entering the fourth quarter before the Wildcats outscored the Pioneers (9-5) 11-8 to finish the game.

Ross Kaufman led the Wildcats with a game-high 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Austin Lammers contributed with 13 points including the teams' only two 3-pointers.

Justin Kroehler's double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds led the Pioneers.

CONTINENTAL -- Archbold broke out to a 19-8 lead by the end of the first quarter and cruised past Continental 63-44 Saturday in nonconference boys basketball action.

Tyson Schmitkey led Archbold (11-2) with 13 points, while Joe Frank and Tyson Dietrich each added 11. Seven other Blue Streak players scored as Archbold was 13 of 16 from the free-throw line and 6 of 10 beyond the arc.

Chazz Slattman led Continental (5-8) with 19 points and five rebounds. Tyler Rue added eight points, four assists and four steals.
