Dayton honors Mackell
DAYTON -- Stephen Mackell, a 2009 Findlay High graduate, was one of two University of Dayton students receiving the 2013 Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award, the most prestigious award presented by the university's Office of Academic Services for Student-Athletes.

Mackell was a four-year letter winner for UD, and was the team's fourth runner when the Flyers finished 16th last fall in the NCAA Division I regional. Mackell was second in the 10-kilometer run at the 2012 All-Ohio Track Championships and third in the NCAA Pre-Nationals.

A team captain as a junior and senior, Mackell has a 3.99 cumulative grade point average while majoring in philosophy and economics and minoring in entrepreneurship.
