With three conference games remaining, Ohio Northern (21-1, 15-0 OAC) can clinch the OAC regular-season title on Saturday with a win over Mount Union (18-4, 12-3). Yoder secured a double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Joanna Snyder also had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Kathleen Phillips scored 26 points for Heidelberg (5-17, 1-14). Free throws aid ONU men TIFFIN -- The Ohio Northern men's basketball team made 20 of 21 free throws and the Polar Bears used the splendid shooting to upend Heidelberg 76-68 in Ohio Athleti Conference action from Seiberling Gymnasium. Dominique Royal scored a game-high 20 points for Ohio Northern (11-11, 7-8 OAC). Branden Rushton and Jared Horstman each added 17 points. Ishaam Smith Jr. scored 14 points for the Heidelberg (9-13, 4-11), which was just 6 of 14 from the free throw line. Knight leads Bluffton BLUFFTON -- Four Bluffton players scored in double figures and the Beavers used the balance to defeat Manchester 57-49 Wednesday night at the Sommer Center. The Spartans got within 47-46 with 3:04 left in the game, but Bluffton (11-11, 6-9 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference) closed out the win with a 10-3 run. Taylor Knight (12 points), Brenna Kurilec (12), Lauren Hutton (12) and Brooke Ruffer (11) each scored in double digits. Hutton, a former New Riegel standout, also snared 10 rebounds for a double-double. Katie Arterburn led Manchester (8-14, 7-8) with 11 points. Pope shines for BU men NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- Will Pope scored 14 points and snagged eight rebounds as the Bluffton University men's basketball team defeated Manchester University 65-52 Wednesday in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. Pope was 7 of 9 shooting from the field for the Beavers (10-12, 6-9 HCAC). Former New Riegel standout Dustin Kinn also scored 14 points for Bluffton, while Nate Chambers added 13.
