An Aaron Scarberry fumble recovery set up Matt Alspach's one-yard touchdown plunge with 6:58 left in the game as C-R (2-5, 2-4 BVC) tied the score at 14.
Mitch Karhoff came up with another fumble recovery, which allowed Tyler Harris to bull in from a yard away to put the Hornets on top 20-14 with 2:54 remaining.
Harris, a senior running back, had a blue-collar effort as he carried 42 times for 228 yards. He also caught a 24-yard pass from Alspach as the Hornets got on the board in the second quarter.
Cory-Rawson outgained Vanlue 287-123 and the Hornets recovered four Wildcat fumbles.
Vanlue (0-7, 0-6) was able to lead for most of the game, though, due to its solid special teams execution.
Kevin Duffman returned a blocked punt 39 yards for the Wildcats' first score. Colton Huston returned a kickoff 80 yards for Vanlue's other points.
Nick Hagerty led the Wildcats offensively with 107 yards on 17 carries.
A Vanlue win would have been its first over Cory-Rawson since a 34-28 overtime victory in 1994.

ARLINGTON -- Dalton Buck proved to be the difference maker for McComb Friday night in its 41-12 win over Arlington in a Blanchard Valley Conference encounter.
Buck threw two touchdown passes and ran for another as the Panthers climbed to 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the conference. Buck ran 1 yard for a TD in the second quarter to put the Panthers up 27-0 at halftime. The senior quarterback capped the scoring for in the third quarter, hooking up with Cody Wilson on scoring strikes of 28 yards and 61 yards. He finished with 10 of 18 passing for 209 yards. He was picked off once. Wilson was the leading rusher with 104 yards.
The Panthers rolled up 346 yards and limited the Red Devils (4-3, 3-3) to 97 yards.

ARCADIA -- Friday's drenching rain didn't keep Zack Kuhlman from attacking Arcadia through the air Friday night. The Leipsic quarterback threw five touchdown passes as the Vikings blasted the Redskins 41-0 in a Blanchard Valley Conference game.
Kuhlman was 14-of-27 for 285 yards. He threw TD passes covering 35 and 9 yards to Devin Mangas, who caught five passes for 68 yards. Jordan Chamberlin rushed for 136 yards and scored one TD on an 11-yard run.
The Vikings, ranked fourth in the state in Division VI, churned out 208 yards on the ground as they improved to 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the BVC. The Redskins managed only 83 yards of offense as they slipped to 3-4 overall and to 2-4 in the conference.

DOLA -- Liberty-Benton scored 28 first-quarter points, led 41-0 at the half and kept it's hopes for a possible share of the Blanchard Valley Conference title alive by rolling past Hardin Northern 55-12 Friday.
Eagles' quarterback Mitch Linhart ran for touchdowns of 47, 16 and 88 yards and threw for two scores as L-B improved to 6-1 overall, 5-1 BVC. Linhart finished with 160 yards on four carries and was 6 of 9 passing for 59 yards.
Kyle Bowsher (three carries, 85 yards) scored on 50- and 30-yard runs. Chase Cook (four catches, 32 yards) had receiving scores of 5 and 7 yards. Tim Petrella added a 3-yard rushing touchdown.
Liberty-Benton ran 30 times for 383 yards and rolled up 442 total yards.
Colton Spearman rushed 17 times for 120 yards for Hardin Northern (0-7, 0-6) and scored on runs of 11 and 86 yards.

PANDORA -- Pandora-Gilboa's football team scored the first 21 points of the game and hung on for a 21-14 win over Van Buren in a Blanchard Valley Conference game Friday night.
The Rockets (4-3, 4-2 BVC) were ahead 21-0 after Abram Basinger scored on a 16-yard run in the third quarter.
But a 12-yard run by Adam Endicott and a 24-yard run by Matt DeVore closed the gap to seven for the Black Knights (3-4, 2-4), who finished with 259 yards.
P-G managed only 144 yards. Seth Schmenk opened the scoring with a 4-yard run and Jarod Triplehorn's 8-yard interception return for a score gave the Rockets a 14-0 lead at halftime.
Basinger rushed for 85 yards. The Rockets fumbled twice.
DeVore led the Black Knights with 135 yards on the ground. Van Buren turned the ball over four times.
