Volleyball: Findlay High cruises to win over Whitmer
Allison Twining pounded 10 kills and Abby Stine dished out 17 assists to help Findlay High cruise past Whitmer 25-17, 25-14, 25-19 Thursday in the opening round of the Three Rivers Athletic Conference volleyball tournament at FHS.

Kayce Krucki had an all-around solid performance with 12 digs, eight kills and a pair of aces for the Trojans (18-2). Emma Schleucher matched Krucki's eight kills.

Findlay, which is ranked No. 5 in the Division I coaches poll, will be back in action at 6 p.m. Monday at the University of Findlay against Toledo Notre Dame (14-6), a 25-9, 25-7, 25-11 winner Thursday over Fremont Ross.

Emily Lauth added 14 assists, 10 digs and five aces for Findlay. Brittane Burnside finished with a game-high 13 digs and Twining added 10.

Whitmer dropped to 7-11.

In the other half of the bracket played at Toledo St. Ursula, Toledo Central Catholic defeated Oregon Clay 25-27, 25-16, 25-7, 25-18, and host St. Ursula beat Lima Senior 25-7, 25-4, 25-10.

No. 2-ranked St. Ursula (18-1) and Central Catholic (8-8) will play at 7:30 p.m. Monday at UF.

Losers bracket play will be contested Monday at Oregon Clay with host Clay (7-9) and Lima Senior (4-15) playing at 6 p.m. and Ross (8-9) and Whitmer following at 7:30.
