Leipsic had a shot go in and out with nine seconds to go in regulation and the game tied at 56-56. Arcadia's Rebecca Kirian was fouled on the rebound and missed the front end of a 1-and-1. The Vikings (1-2, 1-1 BVC) got off a desperation shot at the buzzer that missed the mark. Leipsic's Haley Gerten, who tossed in 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds, hit an early 3-pointer in overtime and the Vikings led the rest of the way. Amber Gerdeman also had a big night for Leipsic as she tossed in 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Kelly Nadler picked off six boards for the Vikings. Molly Glick led three Arcadia players in double figures with 16 points. Courtney Cramer scored 15 and Miranda Palmer chipped in 14 for the Redskins (2-2, 1-1). The Black Knights (3-0, 2-0 BVC) trailed the Hornets (1-5, 0-2) 44-39 at the end of three periods before outscoring Cory-Rawson 18-12 in the final frame to get the win. Kaleigh Frampton led a trio of Van Buren players in double figures with 18 points and five rebounds. Kristen Tropf netted 12 points and Rachel Wymer 11. Madi Endicott and Paige Sudlow also grabbed five rebounds. Kiley Scott finished with 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the Hornets. MCCOMB 82 HARDIN NORTHERN 29 MCCOMB--With four players scoring in double figures matched with a stifling defense, McComb dominated both ends of the floor in an 82-29 Blanchard Valley Conference win Thursday over Hardin Northern. Briana Herr led all players with 18 points and 11 rebounds for McComb (3-0, 2-0 BVC). Jenna Huffman scored 14 points and Emily Clymer and Kristen Buck added 13 points apiece for the Panthers, who hit 48.7 percent (37 of 76) of their field goal attempts. McComb led 21-3 after the first quarter and 49-8 at halftime. Things didn't get any better in the second half for Hardin Northern, which trailed 73-11 heading into the fourth quarter. Brenna Dee and Caelie Reed each dished off six assists. Dee also had six steals. Chelsey DeLong had 12 points for winless Hardin Northern (0-5, 0-2). ARLINGTON 54 VANLUE 15 ARLINGTON -- Madi Mains drained four 3-pointers and Arlington got offensive contributions from several players as the Red Devils defeated Vanlue 54-15 Thursday night in Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball action. Mains led Arlington (4-0, 2-0 BVC) with 14 points. She was the only Red Devils player to reach double figures. Jordyn Webb, Dani Heaster and Haley Dillon each scored eight points. Heaster added seven rebounds and five steals. Kathryn Jolliff dished off five assists for Arlington, which won its 29th straight game and 10th consecutive conference contest. Liberty-Benton continued to cushion its lead in the third quarter, taking a 40-24 lead. Myers added three assists and Lauren Kotey had a pair of steals for the Eagles.
