Prep boys golf: Trojans seventh at Kettering Alter Invitational
KETTERING -- Seniors Mason McCool and Eli Stacy led Findlay High's boys golf team to a seventh-place finish on Monday in a tightly bunched field of elite teams in the Kettering Alter Invitational.

McCool carded a 76 and Stacy a 78. Spencer Shoemaker and Kevin Lewis added 81s as Findlay posted a 316 total.

Cincinnti St. Xavier, seventh in last year's Division I state tournament, won the event with a 306 total. Just six strokes separated the next six teams, with Bishop Watterson (310), fifth at state a year ago, edging Kettering Alter ( 311) for second. Cincinnati Elder, tenth at state in 2011, was fourth (312), Cincinnati LaSalle fifth (314) and Cincinnati Moeller sixth (315), one shot and one spot ahead of Findlay.

Rounding Findlay's lineup were Earl Streacker (83) and Trevor St.-Jean (96).
