Official Contest Rules

1.      Eligibility Restrictions:

a.       This contest is open to all WKXA listeners who are residents of Northwest Ohio and at least 18 years of age, unless otherwise specified. Employees of WKXA, its corporate licensee, Blanchard River Broadcasting, The Findlay Publishing Company, affiliated entities, its affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, and/or other media in the WKXA coverage area and members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win. Also, former Blanchard River Broadcasting employees are not eligible to win any contest within a 12-month period following the termination of their employment. 

b.       Listeners are eligible to win a WKXA contest once every thirty (30) days and have fourteen (14) days to pick up their prize. Only one winner per household is permitted.  Prizes must be claimed at the main studio, 551 Lake Cascades Parkway, Findlay, Ohio during normal weekday business hours. Prizes not picked-up within the 14-day period will be forfeited. Listeners are eligible to win a WKXA contest valued at $600 or more only once every six months.

c.       Participants are required to provide truthful information and WKXA will reject and delete any entry that it discovers to be false or fraudulent.

d.       Contest subject to federal, state and local laws and regulations.

e.       Failure to comply with these contest rules may result in a contestant’s disqualification.

f.        No purchase is necessary. 

2.      Selection Of Winners:

a.        Decisions of station management are final.

b.      When entry and participation require a phone call to WKXA, only calls to 419-425-4487 are eligible and any attempts to call or calls made to any other WKXA or Blanchard River Broadcasting telephone number will be disqualified. WKXA is not responsible for any technical difficulties experienced in entering a telephone contest including loss of service due to an overload, busy signals, phone disconnections, cellular problems, electronic problems, or any other factor that may prevent an individual from completing a telephone call.  In the event of an interruption of power or telephone service to WKXA, the contest will resume once power or service has been restored.

3.      Conditions:

a.       Payment of all federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.  Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or equivalent.

b.       By participating in the contest, the winner agrees to have their name, voice or likeness used in any advertising or broadcast promotional material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and without signing any further publicity release prior to airing.

c.       WKXA reserves the right to make changes to the contest, including the substitution of a prize of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement.

d.       Prize winners agree to hold harmless and release WKXA, its corporate licensee, Blanchard River Broadcasting, The Findlay Publishing Company, affiliated entities from loss, claim, injury, damage or expense, including, but not limited to reasonable attorney’s fees and costs, which are in any way connected or associated with the use of any prizes or prizes received from WKXA.

e.       WKXA is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest, or in the announcement of a prize.

f.        Some prizes are provided to WKXA in exchange for promotional consideration.

g.       Copies of the written contest rules are available during regular business hours at the main studio of WKXA, 551 Lake Cascades Parkway, Findlay, Ohio 45840.
